Preparation

As the vessel was used as charter boat in the Caribbean, one must not be surprised that work had to be performed on it. I worked, or had work done, on the boat to prepare her for the journey. As the boat was not well maintained in the past (charter company with financial problems), I had several items replaced, checked or prepared.

The first thing was replacing the electrical system as it was an electronic one which was half defective! Some items were bypassed and the 220V part was connected directly without any protection! I had it replaced by a simple and classical system which I can maintain myself.

The rig was also checked. Not surprisingly, some parts had to be replaced.

The electronics were still OK. Although simple, the list was complete: GPS, radar, pilot and classical stuff (depth, log). I replaced the VHF, by the one I bought for my previous boat and which has a DSC module.

The main sail was still in a good shape. The genoa was worn, so I had a new one made. The spinnaker still looks good.

Some major work was done in Trinidad. It mainly included "invisible" but very important things such as making the ship waterproof and much more secure (mainly works on the hulls). I also had some interior changes and have addapted existing systems.

As I lost my mast in Octobre 2004, I have a new rig, new sails (main and genoa) and most halyards are replaced.

This is a more detailed list of changes or new features.

I now have the following instruments/equipment on board:
